The John Merrick Band is steve marreyt, a youngster who tries to write lovesongs in his bedroom with a 4-track. Opposite to other morc-bands, he's one of the people that chose to move to belgium instead of leaving the country, so his bedroom is now in Gent instead of the sunny aardenburg.

+ The John Merrick Band like: girls, boys and sanseveria's
- The John Merrick Band dislike: being held in prison for longer than six hours.

Years ago he was a Elo vs. Saturn-member. That band recorded only 1 song during their existence (released on a morc compilation). apart from being john merrick, mr marreyt is also active as edgar wappenhalter - which shows his more experimental side, and as a fluteplayer in mollenhauer blökflötkollektiv - also feat the talents of filip gheysen (aka the ordinary seaman) and the funeral folk-combo's per & oystein, edgar wappenhalter, silvester anfang and chainsaw gutsfuck. and probably 1.000's of other projects in which his name is not revealed...
