In 2000 Hideki Ito started his one-man home recording project, Las Moscas,
(means something like 'the flies'). the band was named after a song called "Moscas
en La Casa" by a Columbian female singer called Shakira. We swear, back in 2000,
literally no-one in europe had heard of her . anyway, in the meantime a few things
have changed. but enough about shadinges. Hideki describes his music
by just a word, as Junk. In fact, he alwas takes a tape-recoder with him to pick
up some Junk (noise). Along with those sounds he has collected, in his recordings,
he uses guitar, voice, bass, drums, keyboards, sampler and anything that makes
sounds.
Although Las Moscas plays 'Junk', the songs are very Poppy and
Heart-Warming. He now lives in Mexico with his tape-recoder. Hideki Ito's other
activites (projects) are Calletta Craft Typewriter (phony pop) Thriftm Rag Film
Cinema Trip (sampling collage) and A dream contributer for Olivia Tremor Control.
Anyway, out now is their debut tape, their part in the soup versus potatoes series.
it's a split with the dutch band Bingo Trappers.
